Many of the wineries in the Fresno area are fairly young:

Nonini Winery was established in 1936, and is still owned and run by the Nonini Family.  Our oldest small producer.

Fresno State winery started producing varietal wine for retail sale in 1998.

Engelmann Cellars was founded in 2000.

Los Californios also founded in 2000.

Cedar Grove Winery was founded in 2001

Milla Vineyards founded in 2005.

LoMac will open in Spring of 2006.

Most of the wineries as are small producers, less than 5000 cases per year.  This puts more focus on quality than on quantity resulting in some truly distinctive, premium wines.
